Federal Advocacy

HPCAI advocates for hospice and palliative care at the federal level through its partnership with the National Alliance for Care at Home (the Alliance).

As the nation’s largest nonprofit membership organization representing providers of home-based care, the Alliance serves as the leading authority in advancing care in the home. Through advocacy, education, convening, and collaboration, the Alliance works to strengthen care delivery across the home-based care continuum and expand access to high-quality care for patients and families.

Hospice care provides compassionate, patient-centered support that enhances quality of life while often reducing unnecessary health care costs. The Alliance is committed to protecting and expanding access to hospice services by equipping advocates with the resources, education, and tools needed to advance hospice and palliative care in their communities, on Capitol Hill, and online.

As part of these efforts, HPCAI may engage members in advocacy opportunities through the Alliance to support policies that strengthen and sustain hospice and palliative care. Members can participate in a variety of activities, including communicating with elected officials, staying informed about key legislative and regulatory issues, and helping shape the future of hospice care. To stay current on advocacy initiatives and developments affecting the hospice community, members are encouraged to follow the Alliance’s public policy updates and social media channels.
